Seat Pleasant Chapter of Las Amigas, Incorporated , a public service organization, is part of a National and local network of dedicated women, working together as a team, donating our time, talents, special skills, resources, and friendship; and partnering with other organizations with similar interests, and sharing ideas in order to enhance the quality of life for citizens who live in our communities.
The shared values of our organization are integrity, respect, honesty, good citizenship, service, teamwork, and commitment. Join us!

Our National Organization, Las Amigas, Incorporated, was organized in Charlotte N.C. in 1957 by Dora R. Mason and Mary Q. Moore. Since that time twenty-six Chapters were established across the states from North Carolina to Ohio. Seat Pleasant is one of the twenty-six Chapters and is located in Maryland.
Seat Pleasant Chapter of Las Amigas, Incorporated was organized in December, 1973 by the late Lona Florence. In October, 1974 Seat Pleasant Chapter was installed at the Inter Council meeting hosted by the Forestville, Maryland Chapter at the International Inn, Washington, D.C. Hampton-Newport News was the sponsoring chapter. Lona Florence was Seat Pleasant Chapter’s first President and she served three terms.
The chapter members were Vernice Boozer, Shirley Butler, Charlotte Chase, Gloria Holloman*, Louise Langley, Delpha Royal, Barbara Williams*, and Lona Florence*

We are always looking for volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. Our focus is a five point programmatic thrust: Economic Development, Education, Family, Health, and Political Awareness. The Chapter’s commitment to public service is demonstrated through its projects, programs, monetary and physical support to other organizations: Adopt-A-School, Cans of Hope, Adopt-A-Road, Remembering our Seniors in Nursing Homes, Blankets for the Homeless, Pink crochet Blankets for breast Cancer patients, Holiday Baskets to families, Voter Registration, Scholarships to High School Seniors, Medical Transportation for Seniors. Monetary Support: American Cancer Society, Lupus Foundation, March of Dimes, American Cancer Society. Additionally, we are proud to be an affiliate of the National Council of Negro Women. that best suits you.
